What Hoboken Sounds Like:

A Movement Recognized

From a vision to a movement, What Hoboken Sounds Like has grown into a defining force—not just in the local music scene, but in the heart of the Hoboken community. Since day one, our mission has been to amplify unheard voices, provide platforms for emerging artists, and use culture as a tool for connection and change.

Today, our impact stands on record—twice recognized by the City of Hoboken with official proclamations. The first honored our CEO & Founder, Victor M. Lopez Jr., for his leadership in building a platform that empowers artists and uplifts underserved communities through music, storytelling, and service. His efforts have brought events like The Summer Blockfest to life—an annual celebration of music, art, and community that unites the city in a powerful display of culture and unity.

The second proclamation was awarded to our Vice President, Amanda Dale-Lopez, recognizing her heartfelt advocacy for autism awareness and inclusion. Through initiatives like her Autism Awareness WhatsApp group and community events like The Foodie Fest, Amanda has fostered safe spaces, support systems, and ongoing dialogue that promote understanding and acceptance.

These proclamations aren’t just acknowledgments—they’re affirmations of a mission grounded in purpose and driven by love. What Hoboken Sounds Like isn’t just a name—it’s a growing legacy that blends creativity, culture, and care.

And we’re only getting started.
