Twice Recognized: What Hoboken Sounds Like's Two City Proclamations

What Hoboken Sounds Like proclamations

What Hoboken Sounds Like began as a vision and has grown into a defining force in Hoboken's music scene and the wider community. From the start, its mission has been to amplify unheard voices, give emerging artists a platform and use culture as a tool for connection and change.

Two proclamations

That work has now been recognized twice by the City of Hoboken. The first proclamation honored CEO and founder Victor M. Lopez Jr. for building a platform that empowers artists and uplifts underserved communities through music, storytelling and service, including the annual Summer Blockfest.

The second honored Vice President Amanda Dale-Lopez for her advocacy for autism awareness and inclusion. Through her Autism Awareness WhatsApp group and community events like The Foodie Fest, she has built safe spaces and support systems that promote understanding and acceptance.

For WHSL, the proclamations are affirmations of a mission grounded in purpose, and the organization says it is only getting started.
