Tastebuds Hoboken had been a community staple for years, but in March 2023 the city placed bike racks in its spot, even though the business had the proper documentation for that corner. Tastebuds has done so much for the community, including days of giving back at no fee whatsoever.
WHSL encouraged supporters to go beyond comments and attend City Council meetings at City Hall at 6 PM on Wednesdays, and WHSL's founder planned to speak too: "We are in an era in this city where small businesses are thriving and the only way they can is if we use our voices... Show this city that we cater to ourselves, not just the tourists!"
Update: the City of Hoboken reached out to Tastebuds about a solution. There was no council meeting that week, but concerns could still be raised at the next one.
