Summer Blockfest partnered with the Hoboken Public School District and the Hoboken Board of Education to host a free Back 2 School Bookbag Giveaway at the 4th Annual Summer Blockfest.
- When: Saturday, August 22, 2026, 12 to 7 PM
- Where: 770 Jackson Street, Hoboken
- Details: one book bag per child, first come, first served, while supplies last. Children had to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Summer Blockfest thanked Superintendent Christine Johnson for helping make it happen. "This collaboration means everything to us, because it shows that Summer Blockfest is more than a festival. It's a pillar of this community."
The giveaway built on the free book bag giveaway at the 2025 festival, which was followed by another drop with the Pamela Bates Foundation and Opulent Hair Loft. On the day, more than 75 book bags were given out, and every single one went to a local child. Read the full 2026 recap.
