Hoboken Cultural Affairs will no longer host a Fall Arts and Music Festival on Washington Street. The city will keep the Spring Arts and Music Festival and introduce a new fall event with a different focus and location: the return of the River City Fair.

A Hoboken tradition

The original River City Fair ran in the 1970s and 1980s, highlighting local artists, musicians, makers, food and Hoboken's connection to the Hudson River waterfront. It became part of the city's creative history and helped inspire the arts and cultural celebrations that followed.

The new version will showcase local businesses and crafters in a more intimate waterfront setting, with fewer vendors than the spring festival.

Event details

  • Where: South Waterfront, 1st to 4th Streets and Sinatra Drive
  • When: Saturday, September 26, 2026, 12 PM to 5 PM
  • Rain date: Saturday, October 3, 2026
