Councilman Michael Russo announced his candidacy for mayor of Hoboken on February 18, 2025.
Russo is the longest-serving member of the Hoboken City Council. He is also a father, a philanthropist and a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy.
With Mayor Ravi Bhalla not seeking a third term, Hoboken was guaranteed new leadership in 2025. Russo's announcement came a month after Councilwoman Emily Jabbour entered the race and a week after Dini Ajmani's announcement, with more candidates expected.
