The 3rd Annual Juneteenth Unity Picnic is on, rain or shine. Because of the weather forecast, the celebration is moving indoors to Hoboken High School, the alma mater of event founder Kera of Mile Square Mommies.
- When: Thursday, June 19, 2025, 1:30 to 5:30 PM
- Where: Hoboken High School gym and lobby
- Music: Hoboken's own DJ Bripee
What's happening
The free event is open to everyone, from neighbors and families to elders and church groups. The lineup includes a health fair, soul line dancing, arts and crafts, a basketball shoot-out tournament, kids' soccer demos, R&B karaoke and photo backdrops. Guests are invited to bring their own basket, with community potluck tables for sharing snacks and drinks.
Now in its third year, the picnic has become a Hoboken tradition, started by Kera to honor the past, celebrate the present and keep moving toward the freedoms of the future. Updates are posted by @wejumptogether and @milesquaremommies.
