Do Good Donuts announced the return of its 3rd Annual Pumpkin Smash on Saturday, November 4, 2023, from 10 AM to noon at Maxwell Place Park in Hoboken. Guests brought their Halloween pumpkins, as long as they weren't painted or covered in stickers, to smash.
The year before, the event kept 145 pounds of pumpkin out of landfills, and the goal was to beat that. All the pumpkin innards went to Neighborhood Compost to become soil in their New Jersey compost pile. The event also offered trash bags for a waterfront cleanup, free Do Good Donuts and eco-friendly local goodies. "It's an oddly satisfying experience, and even the kids enjoy it."
