Former Deputy Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Treasury Dini Ajmani announced her candidacy for Hoboken mayor in February 2025, following Councilwoman Emily Jabbour into the race.
Ajmani has a strong background in government and finance and serves on the Community Advisory Board of the Hoboken Business Alliance.
At the time, 2nd Ward Councilwoman Tiffanie Fisher, 3rd Ward Councilman Michael Russo and 4th Ward Councilman Ruben Ramos were mentioned as possible candidates, though none had formally declared.
