In mid-July 2026, the Hoboken community came together for another Christopher Garcia Classic, the annual basketball tournament held in honor of Christopher Garcia.
Congratulations to this year's champions, Ken's team.
The people behind it
Every year, WHSL team members Michael (@therealbigalow__yb) and Jonathan (@garciajonathan33) put countless hours into organizing the tournament. Through their brands, Vail Stones and Street Friends, they have grown it into an event that brings people together, creates memories and keeps Christopher's legacy alive.
Bigger than basketball
As Year 6 wrapped up, Michael thanked everyone who made it a success: the sponsors, food vendors, host, photographers, videographers, volunteers, DJs, every team that competed and everyone who came out to support. He said the tournament has become much bigger than basketball. It's about bringing people together and honoring Christopher, and he plans to keep it going every year in his honor, wishing only that Christopher could see how much it has grown.
